Job Summary
Performs comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Room using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation; conducts patient interviews, explains policies, reviews charts, assesses multiple organ systems, pain management, and psychosocial needs; develops individualized care plans, documents care and outcomes, coordinates with physicians and health-team members, administers medications, ensures patient safety, provides discharge planning and education, and supports family/caregivers throughout treatment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date
