Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner for the Emergency Room. Requires nursing license in Tennessee and formal education (nursing diploma or degree). Must complete BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS within 6 months; NVCI within 6 months for several units; TNCC/TE–specific certifications for Emergency/Pediatric ER; PALS for pediatric and adult ER as applicable; experience in emergency care preferred (adult/pediatric). Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, planning individualized care, patient teaching, discharge planning, medication administration, accurate documentation, and maintaining a safe healing environment across Adult Emergency, Pediatric Emergency, Critical Care, Oncology units, with telemetry and related equipment. Requires ability to work up to twelve-hour shifts in a high-pressure hospital setting and adherence to hospital policies and competency assessments. Workplace locations include Whites Creek, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire (multiple units)
- NVCI certification within 6 months of hire (where applicable)
- TNCC/PALS/ENPC as applicable to department (Emergency Room, Pediatric ER, Critical Care)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (Pediatric ER)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (Adult ER)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (Pediatric ER)
- one year of emergency experience preferred for Adult ER
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- NVCI certification within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- Oncology chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
