Job Summary
Assess, intervene, and advocate for patients with trauma, cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, medicine, and psychiatry emergencies in the Emergency Department. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality nursing care while completing required training in Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia, ACLS, BCLS, and Code White response. Maintain excellent physical assessment, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills within a fast-paced environment. This part-time role covers all shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Required Qualifications
- College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Certificate of Registration in good standing
- Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- Two years of current experience in an Emergency Program
- Current experience in a hospital environment
- Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia certificate
- ACLS
- BCLS
- Code White Training
- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Excellent problem solving and crisis intervention skills
- Proven dedication to an interdisciplinary team approach
- Ability to work in a fast-pace environment
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- All required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada
- Applicable criminal record check
Desired Qualifications
- Current experience in a hospital environment preferred
- TNCC
- ENPC
- PALS
- Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell
