Job Summary
Provide patient-centered care in the Emergency department, coordinating outcomes and participating in patient and family teaching. Assess and diagnose patient needs, including physiological, socio-cultural, and spiritual factors, while developing individualized plans of care and discharge planning. Implement care strategies as an advocate, prioritizing responses to emergency or life-threatening situations, and evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes. Collaborate with ancillary nursing and healthcare team members to maintain professional standards and safety. This part-time role requires 48 hours every two weeks, with nights from 7pm to 7:30am every third weekend. Candidates must hold a current Michigan RN license and BLS certification, with preferred ACLS/PALS certification depending on specific unit assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program
- Current Michigan RN License (or completed by end of orientation)
- Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider (or completed within 60 days of hire)
- Recent hospital experience
- Previous nursing practice experience
- 2 years prior RN experience in desired specialty area
- Prior experience with electronic patient documentation system
- Prior experience with technology common to specialty area (i.e., cardiac monitors, IV pumps)
- Certification in specialty area (CCRN, CRN, CNOR, CEN, etc)
- Bilingual
- ACLS Certification or completed within one year of hire
- PALS certification or completed within one year of hire
- NRP Certification or completed within one year of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation
