Job Summary
ED Registered Nurse providing urgent/emergency care in a 15-bed ED; responsibilities include triage, in-charge duties, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and rapid assessment within a fast-track zone; must maintain immunization policies and undergo pre-employment medical clearance; ACLS required on hire and ongoing, with additional post-diploma emergency courses and ECG interpretation skills preferred; 12-hour rotating shifts (0730-1930, 1930-0730) with days and nights; strong focus on patient safety, timely referrals/admission, and adherence to hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire
- Previous Emergency Department experience
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course is required within one year of hire date
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
