Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department performs comprehensive nursing assessments and reassessments, prioritizes care based on patient acuity, initiates emergency interventions and protocols, administers medications and IV therapies, monitors patient response, assists with procedures (e.g., intubation, central line, resuscitation), conducts triage, participates in resuscitations and emergency response, supports airway management and hemodynamic stabilization, ensures patient safety and dignity, communicates with patients/families and care team, participates in bedside handoff, documents in EMR, identifies safety concerns, and contributes to quality initiatives, along with education, mentoring, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensed as a Professional Registered Nurse in New York State
- BCLS/ACLS/ PALS required
- Bachelors preferred
- Basic Arrhythmia course preferred
- Child abuse Certification
- NIHSS + Stroke CEU's
- Moderate sedation
