Job Summary
Emergency Department RN providing direct patient care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced ED, meeting NYS RN licensure requirements, maintaining critical care competencies (CEN preferred or within one month of employment), mentoring and precepting when applicable, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS
- Pass Critical Care exam within one month of employment or have current CEN certificate
- One year past medical/surgical experience as an RN
- Experience in ambulatory care setting or physician office practice; supervisory experience preferred
- Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, staff and management
- Ability to work outside normal hours as volume demands
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to collaborate with other health personnel
- Strong organizational skills
