Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage incoming patients based on urgency, administering medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor patient vitals, report significant changes to the medical team, and collaborate with physicians to create and implement individualized care plans. Respond swiftly to emergency situations, educate patients and families on health management, and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies. This part-time role requires Monday and Thursday shifts from 7pm to 7am. Candidates must be a licensed Registered Nurse in Iowa, hold current BLS certification, and obtain ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications within one year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa
- currently licensed as a Registered Nurse able to work in the state of Iowa
- current in BLS (Basic Life Support) by the standards of the American Heart Association
- proof of having completed Mandatory Reporter course at the time of hire or attend within 6 months of the start date
- adherence to all training requirements as mandated by Federal, State, and Professional licensure and regulatory standards
- certified in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- certified in PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- certified in TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core)
- completion of 16 hours of continuing trauma medical education every 4 years
- 4 hours of the continuing education will be formal
- 12 hours may be informal
- Completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention training (CPI) or equivalent
