Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Mayo Clinic. Responsible for coordination of nursing care, direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. Applies the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model to plan, implement, assess, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. Provides leadership through roles such as preceptor, formal/informal leadership, and quality improvement involvement. Delegates patient care considering skill level, acuity, resources, and fiscal considerations. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching abilities; may participate on committees or projects. May be required to drive a personal vehicle as part of the role. TN sponsorship is eligible; successful sponsorship requires state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements
- BLS competency; ACLS required; PALS within 6 months of start date
- Ability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call)
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Experience or ability to work in a team environment; computer skills; EMR experience preferred
