Job Summary
Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provide direct care to diverse populations, manage high-acuity cases, and guide patient/family teaching while maintaining standards of professional nursing care. Communicate with physicians regarding clinical condition changes, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology, responding quickly to treatment response variations. Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and report child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality throughout all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required
Desired Qualifications
- ER setting preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
