Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the Nursing Process from admission to discharge, including patient assessment, care planning (discharge planning), and coordination of nursing care. Direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting; administer medications and perform treatments, assist physicians with procedures and tests, and participate in education, governance, and quality-improvement activities. Maintain adherence to departmental policies, ensure safety and continuity of care, and support the Standards of Respect. Shift pattern includes 7p-7a with 4 mixed shifts per month across holidays; this is a per diem role in the UMass Memorial Health system requiring Massachusetts nursing licensure and BLS (ACLS preferred/current).
Required Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration
- BLS certification is required for every RN unless ACLS certification is current
- ACLS certification current or unit-specific certifications and competencies as required
