Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Part Time, Nights) provides professional nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation per facility policies. Responsible for directing and managing care of designated patients, coordinating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and communicating effectively with patients and families. Responsibilities include synthesis of data to optimize patient outcomes per ANA Scope and Standards, participation in evidence‐based practice and quality/safety initiatives, facilitating patient and family education, and contributing to unit and hospital goals. Demonstrates leadership through mentoring and precepting new colleagues and interns, delegation based on skill and acuity, and involvement in performance improvement activities. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and RN license; basic life support certification required. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and demonstrated computer proficiency; physical demands include lifting/transferring patients and prolonged standing. This position is with Lehigh Valley Health Network, a Magnet-recognized organization, and involves part-time night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Nursing program
- RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- Knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care
- Successful completion of additional orientation programs related to specialty
- Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies
- Basic computer skills
