Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse groups, while effectively delegating and managing nursing team resources. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes, adapting communication styles to specific patient populations. Communicate clearly with varying individuals throughout the care process and demonstrate good judgment in clinical decision-making. Remain knowledgeable on federal, state, and local laws to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 30 days of hire
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
- Ability to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
- Ability to work at a production rate pace
- Ability to work in an area where patients enter
- Ability to work directly with patients
- Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- Ability to remain knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
- Ability to ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
- Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
- Ability to protect patient/employee safety
- Ability to protect patient privacy
- Ability to handle exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Ability to handle exposure to hazardous medications
- Ability to handle exposure to hazardous waste
