Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team, using nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers, communicates clearly, documents care thoroughly, and educates patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, follow-up measures, and healthy lifestyle changes. Responsibilities include assessing pain, performing procedures and monitoring as ordered, promptly responding to patient requests, and supporting discharge planning and self-management.
Required Qualifications
- RN (Registered Nurse) license is required
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor, or Bachelor's Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
