Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administer safe, accurate, and timely medications and IVs while maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients, families, and coworkers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure age-appropriate care and complete, accurate patient information communication. Assume responsibility for patient/family education processes and build relationships to promote a collaborative environment. Work 3 days on 12-hour shifts from 3p to 3a, with required reporting during inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program
- Knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
