Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in a highly technical, fast-paced emergency department. Render professional nursing care to assigned patients while directing and supervising other team members. Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to provide age-appropriate care, ensure complete and accurate patient information communication, and administer safe, accurate medications and IVs. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and coworkers while utilizing the nursing process to ensure quality care throughout the episode of care. Requires current Texas RN license, BSN preferred, and minimum 12 months RN experience. Methodist Southwest Medical Center is a Magnet-designated Level III Trauma Center serving southwestern Dallas County.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program
- Knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
