Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process, therapeutic intervention, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and coordination while managing time, supplies, and resources to deliver prioritized care. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans as needed, and provide necessary education and referrals. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and integrate legal and ethical standards into daily practice. Requires six months of licensed RN experience in an Emergency Department and a current state license.
Required Qualifications
- Six months of licensed RN experience in an Emergency Department
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Degree will be verified
- Must be available for mid shift & night shift availability
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
