Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with multi-system issues in the Emergency Department. Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment to interpret patient status and identify age-specific needs. Develops and revises patient care plans, documents progress, and teaches patients and families about discharge preparation and procedures. Administers medications, directs nursing assistants, and manages time and resources to deliver safe, therapeutic interventions. Requires one year of clinical experience and adherence to organizational protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- One year prior clinical nursing experience
- Evidence of experience in working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team
- Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team
- Must regularly lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 - 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift, carry or push/pull up to 20 - 50 pounds
- Must have color vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have far vision
- Must have near vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must be regularly exposed to airborne pathogens, blood borne pathogens, and bodily fluids
- Must be occasionally exposed to airborne contaminants, chemotherapeutic agents, electrical hazards - shock, moving mechanical parts, non-weather related heat or cold, slippery surfaces, and toxic or caustic chemicals
- Must be regularly required to do fine motor, hear, speak, and walk
- Must be frequently required to bend, reach, sit, squat, and stand
- Must be occasionally required to climb, do repetitive motion, kneel, and smell
