Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Department according to Illinois practice acts and hospital policies. Assess patient conditions, recognize changes, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and record pertinent observations while delegating tasks to other staff. Function as a team member to fulfill unit goals. Requires current Illinois RN licensure, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications within three months of start date, plus one year of ED experience. Full-time evening shift from 1:00pm to 1:00am with every third weekends and rotating holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or higher in Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (if Associate Degree is the highest degree held)
- 1+ years' experience in the emergency department unit
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within three months of start date into position
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within three months of start date into position
- Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within three months of start date into position
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within three months of start date into position
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within three months of start date into position
