Job Summary
Provide quality nursing care for geriatric patients by following physician orders, state and federal regulations, and facility policies. Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, IM, or IV) as ordered; lead and supervise nursing assistants and orderlies; assist physicians with rounds; provide care during rounds, examinations, and treatments; perform scheduled treatments and document appropriately; maintain infection control and Universal Precautions; assist with research related to nursing care quality; help with records, orders, and assessment of new admissions, coordinating annual physicals with attending physicians. Requires NC RN license, CPR certification, dependability, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
- Provide CPR certification (yearly)
- Ability to supervise nursing assistants and orderlies
- Follow physician orders and facility policies
- Maintain infection control and Standard/Universal Precautions
- Background checks/drug-free workplace compliance
