Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in the Emergency Department while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care across departments. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values, and Service Standards. Requires current RN license, BSN or equivalent, and BLS certification. Monday and Thursday nights, part-time 24 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
