Job Summary
Registered Nurse (ED/ER) needed to provide rapid assessment and urgent care in a fast-paced emergency department in New Orleans, LA. Responsibilities include rapid triage using ESI, managing patients with chest pain, stroke, respiratory distress, sepsis, trauma, and other emergencies; initiating and titrating emergency medications; performing and interpreting EKGs; establishing IV access and phlebotomy; assisting with CPR, airway management, and defibrillation; coordinating with emergency physicians, trauma teams, and ancillary staff; telemetry monitoring; patient and family education on diagnoses and discharge instructions; documentation in EMR; and ensuring safe handoffs for admissions or transfers. Requires RN program completion (ADN or BSN), active Louisiana RN license, current BLS, and 1 year of ED/ER experience; we offer per-diem schedule with shifts such as 7:30 am – 4:00 pm CDT/CST.
Required Qualifications
- Active Louisiana state RN license
- BLS Certification
- 1 year RN experience in ED/ER preferred
