Job Summary
Assess patient conditions on admission and ongoing basis, including physical, psychological, and social status while managing pain and discharge planning. Plan, provide, and document patient education based on behavioral and developmental factors. Evaluate and reevaluate care, coordinate planning with providers and families, and assign nursing care to LPNs, PCAs, and other team members. Accurately document observations, participate in unit huddles, and assist in performance improvement activities. Adhere to DCH Health System policies, maintain safety standards, and perform required competencies. Requires BSN preferred, ACLS, and PALS certification. Full-time onsite role with medium physical exertion.
Required Qualifications
- Current approved Alabama Board of Nursing RN license or multi-state license
- Ability to obtain RN license prior to start
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training
- BSN
- Minimum Associates degree
- ACLS
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Physical presence onsite
