Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care and direct patient assistance on the assigned ECC Wharton unit, directing licensed vocational nurses and non-professional personnel in delivering medical support under Medical Staff direction. Maintain current Texas Registered Nurse licensure and hold Basic Life Support certification, with Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support required within six months of employment. Demonstrate leadership ability, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills while managing a full-time night shift schedule. OakBend Medical Center, an independent hospital serving the community since 1950, offers this role within its network of three hospitals and specialty centers.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- One year acute care clinical nursing experience
- Equivalent EMT/Paramedic experience
- Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse
- Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
- Advance Cardiac Life Support
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (or ENPC)
- TNCC
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer skills
