Job Summary

Deliver direct, individualized nursing care to assigned patients across all stages, including pre- and post-operative care. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while monitoring physical and psychological status, reporting changes, and revising care plans as needed. Safely execute physicians' orders, administer medications, start IVs, assist with procedures, and respond promptly to medical emergencies. Adhere to infection control and isolation procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions. Support and mentor students and new staff, participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives, and assist other units as required. Work full-time, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with on-call and public holiday coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years Medical/Surgical/Emergency care and Critical care nursing experience
  • Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Science in Midwifery with M.Sc/Post Graduate diploma in Nursing
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current certification in Pediatric Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (PALS) for Nurses in the Urgent Care/ OPD Department
  • Experience in hospital setting and understanding of hospital operations
  • Minimum of 15 pounds moving and handling
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
