Job Summary
Coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionals while performing physical exams, administering medications, and conducting comprehensive assessments. Provide health promotions, counseling, and education to patients and families, ensuring compliance with Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center standards and protocols. Recognize adverse signs and symptoms, react to emergency situations, and communicate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal clinical outcomes. Perform independent triaging, screen walk-in patients, and assist with procedures across cardiology, family medicine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, neurology, and pediatrics. Work shifts ranging from 0530 to 2230, Sunday through Saturday, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires current RN license, Associate Degree in Nursing, and one year of recent clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associates Degree of Nursing
- Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support certification
- One (1) year of clinical or inpatient experience, post-education/graduation and post-licensure, within the last two (2) years providing direct care in multispecialty inpatient or outpatient clinical settings
- Competency in performing comprehensive assessments, administering medication and treatments, documenting care accurately, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to float to other clinical areas within the RN's credentials, abilities, and qualifications
- Ability to rotate shifts, transfer work location and/or clinics during normal duty hours
- Ability to be assigned to irregular tours of duty to include weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Ability to perform services more than 40 hours a week or more than 80 hours every two weeks
- Ability to work Sunday through Saturday
- Ability to work shifts ranging between 0530 and 2230
- Ability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and Federal holidays
- Ability to work up to 16-hour periods
- Ability to work an uncompensated mandatory lunch break not to exceed 60 minutes
- Ability to work Monday through Friday including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and all holidays
