Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Day Shift provides plans, coordinates and manages nursing care, nursing services and health education to nursing home residents, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants (CNAs/CMTs), assigns work, prioritizes resident safety and staff performance, administers medications and treatments per physician orders, conducts nursing assessments, and collaborates to develop and implement plans of care. Requires a current RN license, CPR certification, and preferably 2 years of experience in long-term care; strong communication and organizational skills are essential for coordinating care, documentation, and regulatory compliance. The role includes leadership responsibilities, medication administration, wound care and other treatments as specified in orders, and participation in programs like INTERACT to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations.
Required Qualifications
- Current state RN license
- Current CPR certification
- Additional certification in nursing specialty desired
- 2 years’ experience in a long-term care setting (preferred)
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to communicate orally and through written reports
- Ability to define and solve problems and interpret various sources of information
