Job Summary
The RN provides plans, coordinates and manages nursing care for nursing home residents under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Responsible for supervising nursing staff, administering medications, implementing physician orders, and coordinating resident care while promoting safety and quality outcomes. Key duties include supervising CNAs/CMTs, preparing work assignments, ensuring narcotics accountability, conducting nursing assessments, addressing resident requests for pain interventions, and coordinating care plans and InterACT program activities to prevent unplanned hospital discharges. Strong communication, documentation, and adherence to facility policies are required to deliver high-quality gerontological nursing care.
Required Qualifications
- Current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certification
- Desire to work in gerontological nursing; 2 years’ long-term care experience preferred
- Basic computer skills; experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
