Job Summary

Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse groups using the nursing process. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources while serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team. Evaluate data to promote change and achieve optimal patient outcomes, adapting communication styles to specific patient populations. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards, reporting any unethical behaviors or safety concerns immediately. Perform duties requiring exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications within the patient care area.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to be self-directed
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgement
  • Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
  • Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
  • Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
  • Ability to push and/or pull arm or leg controls
  • Ability to work at a production rate pace
  • Ability to work in an area where patients enter
  • Ability to work directly with patients
  • Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
  • Ability to receive, transport, store, prepare, dispense, administer, clean, and/or dispose of contaminated waste
  • Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
  • Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
  • Ability to protect patient/employee safety
  • Ability to protect patient privacy
  • Ability to comply with the Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct
  • Ability to work in a patient care area
  • Ability to work in a healthcare setting
