Job Summary
Circulate for various leading cardiac procedures including vascular, thoracic, open heart, and heart transplants. Coordinate care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team, delegate tasks appropriately, and serve as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrate positive leadership within the unit and identify hospital resources while maintaining strong patient advocacy in a fast-paced environment. This full-time day role includes call with a 30-minute response time at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City, a Magnet Designated Academic Medical center known for its 1000 completed heart transplants and cutting-edge procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (MO)
- National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS) Associate Degree
- 2 years Registered Nurse (MO) experience
- Strong patient advocacy
- Must be able to stay positive in a fast-paced, unpredictable, changing environment
- Must be confident in your skills
- Must be willing to speak up for your patient
- Must be able to function independently and be accountable for utilizing the nursing process
- Must be able to coordinate care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team
- Must be able to delegate tasks appropriately
- Must be able to identify hospital resources
- Must be able to serve as a clinical resource for new employees
- Must be able to demonstrate positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department
- Must be available for full time days
- Must be willing to take call
- Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes
