Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for CVICU patients using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct care teams through delegation, coordinate patient education and referrals, and manage resources to ensure timely delivery of interventions. Monitor clinical outcomes, revise care plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation while adhering to legal and ethical standards. Requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift patients, operate complex equipment, and work in a busy, crowded environment. Night shift with 36 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to set priorities and to coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources
- Must be able to provide accurate & timely documentation
- Must understand legal implications of care delivery
- Must comply with regulatory standards
- Must practice within scope of licensure
- Must integrate legal and ethical standards into practice
- Must promote nursing profession and participate in development of others
- Must be available for night shift
- Must be able to lift up to and including heavy items
- Must be able to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- Must be able to frequently use computer and type for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
