Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment following the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. Maintain current licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse and complete required certifications including Basic Life Support/CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale within specified timelines. Successfully complete the Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment and adhere to the New Hire BSN Agreement policy for degree requirements. Undergo mandatory background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications
- basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
- successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
- Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire for experienced RNs and within six (6) months of hire date for new grad RNs
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within (90) days of employment for experienced RNs and within six (6) months of employment for new grad RNs
- FL Registered Nurse License
