Job Summary
Assess, intervene, educate, and advocate for critically ill patients across Level II and Level III ICUs as needed to augment staffing. Collaborate with the health care team and families while supporting Patient-Centred Care and Sunnybrook's Mission and Values. Maintain current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses, hold a BCLS certificate (ACLS preferred), and possess an essential Critical Care Certificate. Manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment using critical thinking and effective communication skills. Demonstrate flexibility with unit assignments and a commitment to continuing education in critical care.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Current BCLS certificate
- Critical Care Certificate
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development within the past 2 years with emphasis placed on courses/conferences related to critical care
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
- Demonstrated effective ability in: interpersonal relationships; oral and written communication skills; organizational skills; priority setting skills; problem solving; decision making; facilitating teamwork; conflict resolution
- Ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills to patient care
- Ability to handle stressful environment in a positive manner
- Ability to function independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility with unit assignments
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certificate
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- CNCC(C)
