Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner for adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients upon admission, plan individual care based on nursing diagnoses, and execute treatments and procedures independently. Administer medications and solutions safely, document accurately and timely, and reassess patient conditions to modify care plans. Accept charge responsibilities, assign staff based on acuity, and facilitate staff development while maintaining a therapeutic environment. Requires prolonged standing for up to twelve hours daily and adherence to specific unit certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and NVCI.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
