Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner. Per the role, responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized care plans with nursing diagnoses and interventions, planning for patient teaching and discharge/post-discharge needs, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. The position encompasses responsibilities across multiple units including Adult Medical/Surgical, Pediatric Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, Oncology, and Emergency departments, with emphasis on telemetry, medication administration, adherence to policy, and leadership aspects such as assigning staff and maintaining a healing environment. Requires licensure in Tennessee, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NVCI certifications as specified for the unit, and attainment of CCRN/CCRP or related certifications within defined timeframes for critical care roles. The role supports a full-time night shift schedule and may involve float pool assignments depending on unit needs.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire (for 3rd floor telemetry unit and float pool/extended; apply similarly to Critical Care paths)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire (where applicable)
- CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire (for Critical Care)
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire (for Oncology)
- PALS within 6 months of hire (for Adult/Pediatric Emergency and Pediatric units)
- TNCC or ENPC within 6 months of hire (for Emergency/ Pediatric ED)
- At least one year of emergency/pediatric emergency experience preferred (where applicable)
- TN nursing licensure required
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 6 months of hire
- Ability to work in multiple units including Adult Medical/Surgical, Pediatric Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, Oncology, and Emergency departments
- Proficiency with telemetry, Omnicell, Pneumatic Tube System, and related hospital technology
- Ability to lift up to 250 lbs with assistance
- English communication proficiency
