Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner for adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients, identify problems and nursing diagnoses, and plan individualized care including discharge and post-discharge needs. Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting accurately and reassessing patient conditions to modify care plans. Accept charge responsibilities, assign staff based on acuity, and maintain a therapeutic environment. Requires prolonged standing for up to twelve hours daily and adherence to specific unit certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and NVCI.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
