Job Summary
Develop, document, and implement individualized care plans for assigned patients while utilizing interdisciplinary team resources. Apply effective medication administration protocols and actively ensure medical treatment regimens are completed and shared with the unit team. Supervise Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nursing Aides, and Techs in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Coordinate nursing unit activities during assigned Charge shifts, participate in staff and facility team meetings, and lead patient safety initiatives to identify risks and reduce errors. Maintain current knowledge in medical/surgical and progressive care nursing through in-service training and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required
- Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required
- Current ACLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
- English is the primary language of the facility
- Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with co-workers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form
- Ability to define and solve problems and collect data
- Regular and punctual attendance
