Job Summary

Coordinate comprehensive care for pediatric patients receiving ventricular assist devices across inpatient and outpatient settings. Serve as the primary nursing contact for patients, families, and referring providers while collaborating with cardiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans. Manage admissions, procedures, diagnostic testing, and transitions of care, providing education on VAD management, medications, and lifestyle considerations. Monitor patient progress, facilitate timely interventions, and participate in inpatient rounds, conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. Support clinical program development through education, policy implementation, and evidence-based practice. Participate in overnight and weekend on-call coverage to provide clinical support.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of five years of recent pediatric cardiac, critical care, or related nursing experience
  • Strong assessment, communication, organization, and care coordination skills
  • Active Ohio RN License

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience caring for pediatric patients with heart failure, ventricular assist devices, ECMO, cardiac transplant, or congenital heart disease
  • Care coordination or nurse coordinator experience
  • Certification in a pediatric or cardiovascular specialty
  • MSN
  • 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
