Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in an outpatient clinic setting using evidence-based practice and therapeutic interventions. Obtain patient consent, document health histories and vital signs, and administer prescribed medications while monitoring treatment progress. Educate patients and families on health maintenance and manage acute or chronic conditions. Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve care processes, track quality assurance data, and consult with physicians to resolve clinical concerns. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to federal, state, and clinic policies. Requires a current Registered Nurse license, BLS or ACLS certification, and one year of clinic or acute hospital experience. On-site attendance during scheduled shifts at Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
  • One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
  • Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
  • Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources
  • Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies
  • Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
  • Critical thinking skills within scope of practice population health management and improvement of patient outcomes
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
