Job Summary
Obtain patient assessments, histories, and vital signs including EKGs; validate Medical Assistant work-ups and review pre-clinic charts for permanent and outreach clinics. Educate patients and families on Holter and Event monitor placement, medication administration, and discharge teaching. Prepare and follow up on tests and procedures such as labs, cardiac catheterizations, MRIs, and other diagnostics. Oversee clinic set-up, monthly inventory, and clinical equipment maintenance while troubleshooting issues. Perform general nursing assessments, critical thinking, and judgment as needed. Position may include phone triage and travel to other clinics for coverage. Requires current Georgia RN license, CPR certification, and 1-3 years of clinical experience in pediatrics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, Associates Degree, or Diploma in Nursing required from a state accredited RN program
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a clinical setting or equivalent education, training, and experience in pediatrics
- Current Georgia Registered Nurse license required
- Current CPR certification required
- Must possess general nursing knowledge as well as critical thinking, judgment and assessment skills
- Proven strong oral and written communication skills required
- Must have general proficiency in computer skills
- Must be able to travel to other clinics for coverage as operationally necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in pediatric cardiology preferred
