Job Summary
Registered Nurse Clinician (RN) - PRN providing medically prescribed infusion therapy in ambulatory and home infusion settings. Responsibilities include delivering intravenous/injectable medications, patient and caregiver education on disease and drug management, collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, adherence to HIPAA and ACHC regulations, on-call rotation, and travel to outlying clinics as needed. Excellent nursing judgment, proficiency with nursing process, and ability to work in a dynamic ambulatory infusion clinic environment are required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice
- 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy
- BLS or obtain upon hire
- Proficient at MS Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner
- Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team
- Effectively utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner
- Provide disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers
- Comply with HIPAA and ACHC regulations
- Participates in on-call rotation as assigned for AIC nurses
- Travel to outlying clinics as needed
- Maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services
- Accurately perform all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act while adhering to company policies and procedures including, but not limited to: accessing and maintaining central lines and PIVS; obtaining lab specimens; collecting vital signs; Safely administer intravenous and injectable medications as ordered by prescribing physicians; documenting patient care; responding to and accurately reporting adverse drug reactions; assisting with administrative duties as needed
