Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the Clinical Decision Unit of the Emergency Department using the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration while managing patient priorities, supplies, and resources. Collaboratively develop individualized care plans with patients, families, and physicians, ensuring timely documentation and compliance with legal and ethical standards. Requires current RN licensure, BLS certification, and one year of experience; BSN required for new hires. Night shifts (7pm to 7am) with differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of licensed RN experience
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • BSN Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
  • Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
