Job Summary
The Registered Nurse Clinical Informatics & Data Analyst plays a key role in supporting trauma and clinical quality programs by validating, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting clinical data from registries and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Responsibilities include ensuring data integrity, translating clinical data into actionable insights for evaluating outcomes, identifying performance gaps, and supporting performance improvement initiatives. The analyst collaborates with trauma registrars and leadership, conducts data audits and analyses of clinical trends, and develops reports and dashboards. The position requires on-time completion of required education and may include extended hours and on-call work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and clinical data systems
- Experience reviewing, validating, or analyzing clinical or registry data
- Trauma Registry Course completion within one (1) year of hire
- Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) Injury Scale Course completion within one (1) year of hire
- ICD-10-CM coding course completion within the last five (5) years or within one (1) year of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics, Health Science, Data Analytics, or related field
- Two (2) or more years of experience in clinical quality, trauma services, registries, informatics, or outcomes analysis
- Experience with healthcare quality structures, performance improvement methodologies, and benchmarking
- Professional certification such as Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR), Nursing Informatics Certification (RN-BC), or experience with SQL, data visualization, or analytics tools.
