Job Summary

Assess, manage, and direct nursing care for cardiovascular stepdown patients, including comprehensive admission and transfer assessments, post-op evaluations, and discharge planning. Establish and evaluate individualized plans of care based on patient diagnosis, lab data, and physician orders while administering medications and monitoring IV fluids. Provide specialized care for high-risk patients, including pain management, restraint protocols, and abuse assessment, while maintaining strict infection control and safety standards. Collaborate with the health team to coordinate daily care, ensure accurate handoff communication, and address changes in patient condition immediately.

Required Qualifications

  • Maintains current license and certifications
  • Maintain up to date BLS and HI
  • Annual TB Screening and Influenza vaccination
  • Annual Ethics Training (Initial Ethics, if new employee)
  • Annual Safety Training
  • Required Information Security course
  • Required Abuse & Neglect course
  • Annual Blood Borne Pathogens training (if required)
  • Coursework as assigned for .edu
  • Annual competency
  • Age/Population specific competency (if applicable)
  • orientation competency (if new hire)
  • Service Specific
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
