Job Summary
Deliver general nursing care and procedures in the clinic setting while performing medical acts delegated by physicians or advanced practice clinicians. Supervise and direct delegated nursing acts to LPNs and MAs, and assist in managing a physician's schedule according to their preferences. Assess patients over the phone to determine plans of care, obtain prior authorizations for medications or radiology, and ensure appropriate documentation in electronic health records. Authorize refills safely and efficiently according to approved protocols. Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, employees, and physicians to promote a professional healthcare environment. Work Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm, with no weekends or holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR licensing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible in learning and handling a variety of duties
- Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
- Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment
- Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information
- Monday through Friday clinic hours, no weekends, no holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a surgical setting or outpatient clinic preferred
