Job Summary
Registered Nurse at an Ambulatory Surgery Center with responsibilities spanning bedside patient care, coordination with health care team, infection control, documentation, and education. The role requires maintaining safety and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, Joint Commission/AAAHC, CDC), conducting time-outs prior to procedures, identifying patients with two identifiers, and supporting staff through mentoring and training. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, experience in a healthcare setting, and ability to travel up to 80% as needed. Compensation ranges from $40-$45 per hour with benefits including PTO, retirement, and health coverage; incumbent will operate primarily at the Annapolis, MD site with travel to other locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice or compact eligibility
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- Proficiency in Internet and MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient privacy per HIPAA
- Influenza vaccination annually
- Two-step PPD (NE staff) or annual PPD (SE staff)
- Regulatory competencies prior to beginning work in ASC
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Experience with infection control and safety procedures
- Experience with EMR in Pain Management (preferred)
