Job Summary
Plans, implements, and evaluates surgical patient care in a timely and accurate manner. Performs comprehensive assessment and develops age-specific care plans; maintains sterile field with aseptic technique; initiates corrective action for breaks in sterile technique or wrong counts; ensures safe positioning and OR environment; handles/ transports/ stores/ prepares/ administers medications and supplies; supports staff development and orientation; collaborates with health care team. Requires English communication, prolonged standing, and ability to lift up to 250 lbs with assistance; on-call response within 30 minutes. OR experience across multiple specialties including general, genitourinary, ophthalmologic, plastic, orthopedic/total joint, spinal, ENT, obstetric/gynecologic, and vascular; proficient use of OR equipment and network systems.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Must respond to hospital within thirty minutes for "on call" requirements.
- Previous Surgery experience.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
