Job Summary
Plan, performs, and evaluates surgical patient care in a timely, accurate perioperative setting. Demonstrates ability to develop age-specific plans of care, maintain a sterile field using aseptic technique, manage supplies and equipment across multiple surgical specialties (general, ophthalmologic/phacoemulsification/I&A, orthopedics, ENT, vascular, obstetric/gynecologic, etc.), and administer medications. Collaborates with the surgical team to anticipate needs, ensures proper positioning, monitors OR environment, and supports staff development. Requires English communication, long shifts, and ability to lift/push heavy loads; on-call readiness is required.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee
- Nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Perioperative care experience
- Prolonged standing and heavy lifting capability
