Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and accurately document nursing care for pre-operative patients while coordinating with the pre-operative team to achieve defined outcomes. Continuously monitor and assess post-operative patients, assisting with recovery from anesthesia and evaluating health status alongside previous medical history. Collaborate closely with surgeons and anesthesia providers to guide children safely through the postoperative period. Provide appropriate education to families regarding individualized home recovery plans. Requires current NJ RN license, PALS certification within six months, and one year of RN experience preferred. Located in Jackson, NJ, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:30am to 3:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ RN License
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of experience as an RN preferred
- Previous experience working in a pediatric or ambulatory surgery setting a plus
- Ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of start date
