Job Summary
RN Charge Nurse in ICU provides leadership and clinical expertise on their shift, coordinates unit staffing and resources, mentors staff, delegates care, and ensures care delivery aligns with the plan of care, licensure, and safety standards. Responsibilities include assessing patient status, collaborating with interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans, coordinating staffing and resources, guiding staff accountability, documenting accurately, and participating in continuous quality improvement. Requires BSN (or higher) with licensure as an RN, BLS, and unit-specific certifications; on-night shift with on-site, hospital-based duties.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Unit Specific Certification (ACLS, PALS, etc.)
- Experience in assigned clinical area
- Mentoring experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; BSN must be obtained within four years of hire/promotion
